Whether in the production of finished or unfinished products, all printing companies value high product quality at low production costs. One machine that has a significant impact on these values is the rotary trimmer. Often, a successful production depends on the clean trimming of the signatures. A bad cut drives up the waste, gives buyers a chance to file complaints, and may cost valuable production time if production is not running at full speed.
The RS 840 is an innovative double-stream trimmer for inline or offline trimming behind web presses. Due to the autonomous functioning of the two superimposed trimming modules, the space-saving RS 840 is suitable for both printing machines that lay out two shingled streams, as well as for use behind two rotations with single deliveries.
The trimming line consists of two trimmers and a bump turn, mounted on a compact and movable frame. Combined with an optional electric format change, the trimmer can be used for the digital workflow and operated through a graphic display directly on the machine or centrally through a job ticket system.
The infeed with innovative Hexbrator technology ensures the optimal alignment of the product stream - the basis for a perfect trimming of the products. Upper and lower belts with adjustable pressure guide the products safely up to the rotary knives.
RIMA-SYSTEM trimmers are equipped with individually manufactured rotary knives made of toothed carbide. Extremely high mechanical and thermal stability as well as the low manufacturing tolerance ensure maximum service life.
The development of our rotary trimmers focuses on simple operation and maintenance. The RS 840 is the only custom-developed dual- stream trimmers on the market. Both trimming modules are easily accessible through numerous, wide-opening doors.
Low maintenance and knife costs combined with a long knife life make our rotary trimmers small economic wonders. Depending on the product, several hundred million cuts per knife set are possible.
The formats can be set manually or optionally electrically. Centrally controlled or directly at the machine. Using a job memory, formats that have been set once can be recalled at any time.
Electrically adjustable rotary trimmers can be integrated into the central remote maintenance system. This allows a 24-hour service by one of our service technicians.
